kids and travel

planning, planning, planning...taiwan or bust!

I heard a great idea for our adopted son and the ones we already have for the long plane ride and other activities on the trip...to make a journal/agenda/scrapbook with what is upcoming...

for example:
day one we will drive to the airport, take 1 or 2 planes then a cab to hotel...
day 2 we will see, a, b, and c...

I hope I can get it all done by the time we go because I think it would be a great time sucker and momento.
I will let you know if it comes to fruition.

March 2011 trip: Chicago

Over Spring break we took a last minute driving to the the windy city...CHICAGO, CHICAGO...

We cabbed around town, visiting the lego store and spent hours at the Museum of Science and Industry.

TIP: We had fun making mini fig's of ourselves, 3 mini's for $10...can't beat that!

TIP: Great IMAX movie called tornado alley, neat poop power cow (explained how in the future we may use cow poop for energy) of course the submarine...a true boy experience.

Surprisingly family friendly, was the W hotel on Lake Shore drive.  Awesome views of Lake Michigan and Navy Pier.  A super pool and work out room...plus all of the little W tools for all of us: green apples, bottled water, fresh baked afternoon cookies, very friendly and helpful staff.  Nothing better than a staff person who sees that frustration in a mom's eyes and says, "hey kiddo's let me get you some milk for those cookies" and walks them over to the bar for a cold one.  A little sigh of relief for me and a snack for the boys. Thanks W hotel!
